Newport Jets Luxury Holiday Getaways

The team here at Newport Jets has come up with a wealth of luxury travel ideas for the upcoming holidays — from ski adventures to sunny beach destinations. Newport Jets has uncovered some perfect trips for the sophisticated traveler. We’re always on the lookout for the very best destinations for your private jet charter travel. While no list would be complete without traditional destinations, we’ve also included some of the most unique luxury travel spots this year.

Amidst pandemic, people still wants to enjoy travelling. While coronavirus has brought our journeys to a standstill, it has not quieted our curiosity.

While we are not entirely sure how this is all going to pan out, adding travel destination to our bucket list will not harm us. Thus, here – we are showing the best places you can safely go to add on your 2021 travel destination list!

Orlando

Each year, Orlando secures its spot as a top destination with families as they head to Disney World. 2021 is going to be a big year for Orlando, as Walt Disney World celebrates its 50th birthday in October. There is sure to be a lot of new and exciting experiences across the parks… as if they aren’t exciting enough already!

If you know your Disney parks, then you will know that Shanghai Disneyland is home to “Tron: LightcyclePowerRun” and we have great news. This rollercoaster ride is currently under construction at Magic Kingdom in Orlando! Though there is no set opening date for this ride just yet, we expect it will be ready for the 50th birthday celebrations next year. (info src)

Miami

Domestic beach destinations also scored high with travelers researching 2021 trips. And next year, travelers have Miami’s famous white sand beaches in their sights—add in the city’s lively craft cocktail scene and world-class seafood and Cuban restaurants, and it’s not hard to see why this destination ranks in the eighth spot. South Florida has always been a strong market for airlines like JetBlue and Southwest—the latter is doubling down by launching flights to Miami International Airport for the first time on November 15. (info src)

Miami is overall a safe city, especially for tourists. It has some dangerous areas that should be avoided, but they are far from the usual tourist landmarks. You are advised to remain vigilant around tourist landmarks, since pickpockets are an issue there, and keep an eye out for suspicious activities wherever you go.

Scotland

The Scots are fiercely proud of their little nation. And rightly so. Travel companies promoting the region tend to get stuck on hackneyed notions of Scottishness, like tweed, bagpipes and tartan, and while the Scots do celebrate their heritage, it’s just one aspect of the country’s identity. These days, visitors will come across stellar modern food, outstanding contemporary galleries and perhaps even – depending on when you go – one of the biggest comedy and arts festivals in the world. (info src)

“We recommend you allow 9 – 10 days in Scotland for a satisfying tour of the country’s diverse scenery and history. A 10 day itinerary, such as the Best of Scotland tour plan, would let you spend: 2 days in Edinburgh walking the historical streets and enjoying the cosmopolitan buzz.” (info src)

Los Cabos, Mexico

One leisure market with enduring popularity among vacationers is Mexico. That trend doesn’t seem to be changing in 2021, with Los Cabos—and several other Mexican resort towns—picking up a top spot on Expedia’s report. The town, perched on the Baja California Peninsula, is full of top-notch hotels, and nearby San José del Cabo has plenty of vibrant restaurants and shops to explore. If you’re planning a Cabo trip next year, you’ll have plenty of transport options: Many U.S. airlines have been pivoting their route offerings to these types of sunny places and adding Cabo as a destination. (info src)

Best Time for Good Weather: The best times to visit for sunny days, warm water, and comfortable temperatures are from June through mid-July and from mid-October through mid-December. Los Cabos is dry and warm most of the year, with a short rainy season in late summer and early fall. (info src)

The Maldives

Maldives makes it to Forbes List of 20 Best Places to Travel in 2021. Every year, Forbes compiles a list of places travelers can look forward to visiting the next year. According to Forbes, not only will once over-touristed destinations be less crowded, travelers will be looking for more isolated places. (info src)

U.S. travelers are more interested than ever in planning a trip to the Maldives, a serene chain of atolls in the Indian Ocean. The island nation is likely trending because it is currently open to travelers from any country (visitors must produce a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before departure). Flight operations to the Maldives have also restarted from the U.S., with top international carriers like Emirates, Singapore, Qatar ferrying U.S. fliers to the secluded oceanfront paradise. (info src)

Tokyo

Tokyo is anticipated to be one of the top travel destinations in 2021, and not just because it’s the site of the Summer Olympics. Japan’s biggest city is full of delightful contradictions at every turn—buildings so modern they look futuristic blended with ancient temples—not to mention the city is home to the most Michelin-starred restaurants in the world. Plus, Disneyland Tokyo just underwent a massive renovation, making it a must on your itinerary. (info src)

As awesome as central Tokyo is, it’s a bit busy, to say the least. But, the great outdoors is closer than you think. Located in Western Tokyo, the small town of Okutama is well-known among city folk as a rustic retreat perfect for day trips and weekend getaways.

Sweeping forests and mountains envelop the region. Whether viewed in autumn when the trees turn to vibrant hues or during the cool mornings when fog blankets the hills, the scenery is breathtaking. Hikers can discover the “three mountains of Okutama,” Mt. Otake, Mt. Mito and Mt. Gozenyama, or try a more challenging trek up Mt. Kumotori for a rewarding view of Mt. Fuji. (info src)

Paris

Parisian dreams are coming true this spring with a VERANDA Field Trip in March. This eight-day getaway offers exclusive experiences unlike any other, with tours of Pierre Frey’s archives, ventures to quarters of Versailles that are closed to the public, backstage access to the Palais Garnier opera house, and much more. Staying at the fabulous Hôtel du Louvre, which is within walking distance to some of the city’s best sights and sips in the 1st arrondissement.

New York City

The best area to stay in New York City for people visiting for the first time is Midtown in Manhattan borough. This is where all the important landmarks and attractions in NY are located and it’s literally the best area regardless of what type of traveler you are. (info src)

The best time to visit New York is April to June and November and December. April to June is spring, the weather is pleasant and tourists are fewer than usual. New York is in its best festive mode in November and December with Thanksgiving followed by Christmas and New Year. (info src)

South Africa

South Africa has been listed as one of the best places to go next year by Forbes. According to travel insurance aggregator Squaremouth, 65% of trips planned by travellers for 2021 are to international destinations. (info src)

Recent reports had suggested that the country might not open to international travellers until spring 2021, though industry groups in the country, led by The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA), had been lobbying for the government to reopen the country to all tourists as early as September. Safety Travel this Season

Travelling is indeed very risky due to the current pandemic surge. How can you ensure safety during one of the busiest seasons?

Guided with the WHO protocol, the airlines are doing what they can to prevent spreading the virus. Requiring masks on passengers and crew. Widening the knowledge for disinfection procedures and boarding passengers from back to front. Some are blocking middle seats to allow for social distancing.

There are issue regarding if coronavirus will make flying more expensive. Kent Gourdin, professor and director of the Global Logistics and Transportation Program at the College of Charleston said, “I don’t think so. Airlines are simply trying to put people into seats.”

Gourdin said that until the public can travel — not just fly — with confidence again, he believes fare increases are off the table.

“Business travel is still down as many firms realize virtual meetings can often yield the same benefits as those held face-to-face, at significantly lower cost,” said Gourdin. “Leisure passengers are simply not yet comfortable booking costly trips to popular destinations not knowing what they will find when they arrive.”

The goal was to ensure safety and help the passenger know that flying will be as safe as before. Right now, most people do not want to fly. Thus, higher prices would only be counterproductive.

They point to a Harvard University report out last month declaring that travel during the pandemic is no riskier than going to a grocery store. Researchers from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health found “a relatively very low risk of acquiring SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19] while flying,” thanks to air-filtering systems and requirements that passengers wear masks.

All of the major U.S. airlines’ planes are equipped with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters that remove at least 99.97 percent of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and airborne particles that are 0.3 microns in size, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. And the CDC concurs on their efficacy: “Most viruses and other germs do not spread easily on flights because of how air circulates and is filtered on airplanes,” it notes in its guidance for travel during the pandemic.

But the CDC also notes that while “we don’t know if one type of travel is safer than others,” air travel can make social distancing particularly difficult.

Murphy suggests passengers “wipe the area down where you’re going to be sitting, and the armrests and the tray table — anything you touch. If there’s a touch screen or control or something, you need to clean that before you touch it.”

He adds: “If anybody around you is sick, get off the airplane.”

(info src)

STAY SAFE: Bring these things.

What type of FACE MASK should you be using during the flight?

Masks should fit snugly around the nose, mouth, sides of the face and under the chin, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The best performing masks will have two or more layers of heavyweight fabric like cotton or quilting material,” says Dr. Juanita Mora, a Chicago-based allergist and national volunteer spokesperson for the American Lung Association. She estimates that these types of masks will provide 70% to 79% of filtration of particles. Masks with four or more layers could provide 80% to 90% filtration. This means that single-layer masks, such as neck gaiters and bandanas, will likely provide the least protection.

In terms of material, one kind of fabric isn’t better than another as long as the fabric is washable and breathable. Mora recommends flannel as a good option in addition to cotton and quilting materials. The World Health Organization recommends looking for masks that have a white or light colored interior, which can help you see when the mask is dirty or wet. The WHO also recommends finding a mask in which the outermost layer is made from a hydrophobic material, such as polyester or a cotton and polyester blend, that will help repel droplets and moisture.

As you shop around, you may see some masks that have space for a filter. Should you want to add your own filter in these masks for extra protection, Mora suggests using HEPA furnace filters or HEPA vacuum cleaner bags because the HEPA filters are already designed to filter microscopic particles. You can purchase these from retailers online, such as Amazon and Home Depot.

There are a few things to avoid in a mask, according to both Mora and the CDC: First, don’t use an N95 mask. (These should be reserved for healthcare workers.) Second, don’t select a mask with a valve. Those kinds of masks protect you but not those around you since your exhalations (and their particles) escape from the valve. Additionally, masks with valves are prohibited on some airlines. Third, avoid masks made from a fabric that can shed (like the fabric used to create scarves), Mora says, as wearing one could cause you to breathe in those fibers and irritate your lungs.

The WHO also says to avoid wearing a damaged face mask (one with rips or holes) and to forgo masks that fit too loosely. Masks that are dirty, wet or have been worn by another person are not recommended either.

 (info src)

What style of FACE SHIELD needed?

“while face masks protect your nose and mouth, your eyes are left unprotected; the respiratory droplets produced when someone coughs or sneezes can enter your body through the eyes.” Said, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

“Coronavirus cannot penetrate the plastic,” adds Dr. David Aronoff, director of the division of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. “It blocks direct inoculation of the mouth, nose and eyes.”

It’s still possible to contract COVID-19 via air that comes in around or under the shield, which is why it’s essential to also wear a mask underneath. (Plus, most airlines and trains require face masks at this time.) A face shield is not a replacement, but a supplement to your face mask—and an undeniable upgrade to your personal protection while traveling. They have the added value of preventing you from touching your face and eyes, something that becomes even more difficult when you’re in public spaces for hours at a time, be it on an airplane or out for a hike.

“To be maximally protective, combine the shield with a face mask or face covering,” says Aronoff. “Alternatively, there are some shields that have fabric attached to the bottom that likely help serve the function of a face covering.” When choosing a face shield, Aronoff says to choose a style that fits properly and has plastic that extends below your chin.

 (info src)

How to DISINFECT your travel sit?

“Coronavirus is actually easy to kill,” Reynolds said. “Studies have shown that disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizers can kill bacteria and viruses that are much more difficult to kill than coronavirus.”

Best sanitizing wipes: In addition to Clorox wipes, some of the best sanitizing wipes to bring on an airplane include Purell, or a pack of Germ-X wipes with moisturizing vitamin E. CareTouch makes alcohol-free, fragrance-free wipes that are gentle enough for young children and have soothing vitamin E and aloe.

And if you just want to spray your hands (or everything), try Dr. Bonner’s lavender- or peppermint-scented organic hand sanitizer spray in TSA-friendly bottles.

More simply, just bring with you any isoprophyl alcohol (70%). This should be enough to kill the viruses.

Reasons why you should travel with friends

Proving your independence doesn’t necessarily mean you should ignore the interest of Travelling with other people. It surely is 10x more fun to experience new places, food and culture with them! Travel with friends so you have someone to talk to while you’re past 10 awake in your room, while eating or have someone to share the selfies! And when you arrived at home, you all have the same story experience to reminisce until you get old!

These are just some of the incredible things you can have when travelling with friends. And without further ado, here we got these reasons so you sure say ‘Go’ in travelling with besties!

The Planning Process itself is more fun with them!

Why? Because you have someone to debate with! Not arguing, of course, but really taking time to share your ideas and impress others with it is a lot of fun! Also the value of taking considerations of each other’s’ ideas will deepen your relationship and respect.

You become more aware when you travel with them!

Taking the chance to be with them will make you more aware, aware in the sense of becoming more connected to each other’s feelings and life. You know that you will always be there for them and them for you. In travel problems, friends will always have your back and will always be at your side, simply because they are stick to you from departure up to going home! They got no choice! (lol!)

Everything becomes an adventure!

I mean, is there any reason how travelling with friends becomes nothing but adventure?

Imagine one would say, “Hey let’s try this one!” and another one would say “Let’s roll the dice! Game on!”

Besides nothing is better than an adventure with friends!

You become more than just a friend!

Not to ignore the fact that lovers or marriage did start by friending each other right?

Well..ahem..Let’s try to swipe that fact and dive in deeper: You become a family for a week or so!

You’ll share your stuffs and create memories with each other. Well that’s how family is half translated right?

You become night owls!

Well, just like a sleep over, you’ll have to listen and respond while they are sharing!

Plus, activities with friends would surely need more than a day to accomplish. So imagine the lovely bon fire with games at night, which is expected when travelling on beaches and private resorts.

You understand yourself better!

You might notice as well that with your bestfriend/s you can be yourself! Just yourself! You can go loca or crazy whenever you want. Bring on pranks and jokes and just enjoy each laugh you can hear from your mouth. There will never be a chance of -zero jokes- when you are in a group.

Lesser culture shock!

Remember a time when you had your culture shock? Alone?

The unfamiliar territory would somehow make you home sick for a moment, but when you are with them, you will be enjoying it instead and laugh & go crazy in love with new the things you both discovered. With them, you will be reassured that your travel plan is going really well.

It tightens friendships!

One of the best parts about travelling with friends is forge a stronger friendship, it doesn’t just maintain but develops out of the experience. The unique moments you shared together, the incredible sights you both pleasured to look at, the new things you both learned at the same time and more, will always make your friendships much stronger than before.

You’ll not be out of budget!

Travelling with groups is much more affordable than travelling all by yourself.

You have someone to cheap-in for a hotel or apartment room, a car rent or a private jet rent (for rather more luxurious and safe travel).

Also, it’s more fun when things are being shared with bestfriends! And Most importantly, just like you are to them, they will always remind you with your budgeted plan!…no matter what! Ha!

You have extra packing space!

But be clever enough that you will be the one to ask them in including you extra of your extra clothes to their baggage. It’s not a surprise when you got that friend who is contented with just 2 extra clothes, a pair of shoe & sandals, sunglasses and a hat with them, so ask this friend fast if you got more extra things to pack on. Also, the important things such as toiletries, sunscreen and phone chargers are being shared to each other, thus, you got no problemo on these items.

You’ll never feel lonely!

Accept it, sometimes being alone is lonely.

But travelling with friends will never miss a moment to fully enjoy!

You carry a piece of home with you! And that’s your friends!

You can never be too old or too young to enjoy!

When you are with friends, you have reassurance that everything you do is according to the will of a sane person. They agreed to it, you agreed to it so why not to try it! Go and dance crazily under the sun, eat Samyang and other funny things you can do together!

You become fully functional!

You will be more functional and become more active as you are with them. You see things clearly and understand your ‘what and where to do next’ plan. You have this task for the group, either you do barbeque for the night beach or you’re the one that’s singing karaoke!

Unpredictable stolen shots and awesome photographs!

Well, you will not be needing a selfie stick/monopod or a camera stand for a full body shot, your friends are much awesome-er!

And groupies will double the fun!

—————————-

I guess that pretty sum it up all. These are the reasons why you should be travelling with friends.

7 reasons why you need to Travel!

They say, “To Travel is to live life to the Fullest”.

You’re not convinced? Still confused and double minded whether it is good to travel or not?

We’ve got you covered!

Little did you know that travelling may cost big but it is a sure investment to improve yourself. What does it take for someone to understand life?

LIFE in 4 big letters is intriguing. It’s a simple word but it carries your whole being, your emotion, your existence…

You might be wondering what’s the main purpose of travelling. Well, we’ll say it in a very familiar phrase, that is: “Going out in your COMFOR ZONE”. Come on! Enough hiding inside your self-made ‘not-so-cool’ shell.

The opportunity to learn and grow is what this world is demanding. It gives us the chance to be fully engaged in exquisite activities and develop new skills that you never thought you have. It gives you an eye to look for greener pastures (those who want to have high & stable income) and teach you how to live the life with a positive outlook.

Internet might be the most common way of ‘looking outside’, the usual window to see the world, but is it the ‘Healthy Way’ of living? Being stuck inside the 4 corners of your room with a device in your lap that will surely send radiation in your brain?

Exposure to radiation in the first place is BAD.

Above is just a prologue of this blog. Here to complete and fully understand the benefits of travelling, kindly read the following below. (We know you’re excited…)

BENEFITS

1.) Healthier Living

Health is wealth. Exercising at the gym is good, but it is not enough. Travel improves your brain health. This is all good for your health because new experiences increase cognitive flexibility, keeping your mind sharp.

Studies have shown a connection between travel and an increase in creativity, a deeper sense of cultural awareness and personal growth.

Travel exposes you to different environments, which create stronger antibodies and boost your immune system significantly.

Antibodies are the little proteins that protect your immune system from harmful pathogens. In fact, research shows exposure to some dirt and minor illnesses actually keeps your body and gut stronger. But of course, it doesn’t mean you’ll forget your basic hygiene during the travel. You definitely should still wash your hands or sanitized them – every now and then – so to protect you from being sick. But, to be vaccinated by having some new bacteria in your life isn’t a bad thing. When you travel, your body actively adapts thousands of new bacteria which in turn make your immune system much stronger.

It also lowers Stress levels, like very – very – much. This information is not surprising after all, as walking outside in the park for 30 minutes each day would significantly lower your stress level already, so how much more if you travel for a day or a week? It is significantly proven that happy hormones increases as you travel and decreases your depression.

As we have said earlier, travelling helps brain activities. It expands your mind. Why? Well needless to explain further, but ok we’ll say it so to make this blog longer (lol). The answer is because: 1st – You meet new people, 2nd – You adapt to new situations and 3rd – You become globally and culturally aware.

So that’s it! Travelling is Healthy!

2.)  Significantly improves your Social life.

Do you think social media improves your social life already because you got 5,000 Facebook friends and 10,000 Facebook followers? Those people that will just click the ‘Like’ button of your post in just half a second then commented ‘beautiful’? Well it’s a big NO.

Being in other country, where your native language is not widely used, will help you learn how to communicate using your own style of polite gesture. This will help you know yourself more and know how the word ‘respect’ improves communication.

Asking for directions to your target restaurant while walking will need extra effort, but it is all worth it, as you will see how other culture treats you in the most polite way. Surely you will have foreign friends before you’re back to your beloved country.

See? It definitely broadens your horizon. “Travelling helps you connect with different people from different cultures and this is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness. Meeting people from different cultures and societies will help you see issues and daily life from many different angles.” (inf src)

Sounds pretty cool doesn’t it, being connected to other cultures and people from all over the world? Not only will you have more friends around the globe to keep in touch with, but you will also have people happy to let you stay at theirs when you next get itchy feet. You’ll have the opportunity to visit their home turf and see their city and way of life like no other tourist would. They’ll want to show you their world, and luckily for you, you’ll get to see it through the eyes of the locals. (inf src)

3.) Travel keeps you Physically Fit.

This might sound redundant as we have said already that travelling will make you healthy. Listen up, being fit is way different of being healthy. They are two separate words that are needed to be respectively defined properly.

But do seek Healthy body first before being Physically Fit.

Just because a body builder or an athlete for that matter looks strong, sculpted and without a trace of fat, doesn’t mean he or she is healthy. Meaning, to be healthy, you must be fit, but you can be fit and not be healthy.

They are not equal. Health is a state of complete physical, mental well-being, not merely the absence of disease. Fit means in good health, especially because of regular physical exercise.

Sometimes the more fit we are, the easier it is to ignore our body’s warnings. This is true of young people as well as adults. We can easily disregard warning signs, however, being healthy means listening to our brains and our bodies. (src inf)

4.) Enhances your Tolerance for Uncertainty

Have you ever been in a situation where you are stuck in one place or one answer? Yes! Of course, all of us had that experience. While travelling, you will find yourself stuck in situations where things don’t always go as planned. Such situations will help you learn to cope with the uncertainties in life.

Taking a journey all by yourself is not only humbling, it’s empowering. It’s the time every impossible item you ever thought about, seems possible. Ever fear, and apprehension fades into insignificance when you’re on a road to discovering yourself, because a big part of it is overcoming everything you were ever scared of. So eat as many insects as you want, jump off cliffs, drive on mountains, or take a walk on an unknown road. The world is all yours to explore.

Travelling can be scary at first, especially when you arrive in a new country by yourself but believe us, you will get used to the people and the culture very quickly. You will adapt quicker than you ever thought and when you return home you can be super proud of who you’ve become and the fact that you did it all by yourself.

(inf scr: 1 & 2 )

5.) Experience New Foods

“There is no place like home”, they say, but there’s nothing tasted so good like the exotic food you can find respectively in every each country.

There might be this feeling of nauseous when you smell ‘this or that food’ at first but suck it up! And eat it!

You travel and left home for new experiences, so make sure you’re doing it. Again the secret to experience new foods is to – “suck it up and eat it!” -.

There’s nothing worse than travelling thousands of miles from home to taste the familiar. Speak to locals and find out how they cook certain dishes, what ingredients they use and why. Get them to write it down on a piece of paper, don’t just stick it on your Instagram stories and be done, learn the tricks of the trade and appreciate new flavours from around the world. (inf src)

6.) Happiness

Nothing feels like travelling. It is the feeling of being free and wild with caution at the same time. Live the life.

When locals are happy, smiling and friendly, it has an immediate knock-on effect. I found the people of Cambodia and Laos to be notably friendly and cheerful, despite the relative poorness of these countries and the former in particular having a very recent traumatic history. When faced with those big beaming smiles, it’s hard to be annoyed at the hassling you might experience at busy sites like Angkor Wat; putting that knee-jerk irritation to one side instantly lifts your mood and is a good habit to take home.

Traveling gives us breathing space that is often lost in our usual day-to-day existence. Having a moment to take advantage of peace and quiet and to simply ‘be’ allows us to let go of stress and tension and just enjoy being in the moment — a key focus of meditation and a practice you can take home with you. If you’re traveling with a partner, it’s a chance to spend time with only each other for company, which is a thought that probably shouldn’t fill you with dread.

7.) You don’t want to regret never doing it.

A house can wait, a degree can wait, a car can wait, travelling might not be able to wait, don’t live to regret not doing it.

Here are the summary list of things you’ll regret if you’ll not travel NOW.

  • It’s a gift for you.
  • You will have made lifelong friends.
  • You will have had a lifetime of great stories to tell
  • You will have seen true beauty
  • Travel will let you live longer.
  • You Overcome Your Fear
  • It helps you reinvent yourself.

Know before you go: Packing Tips

Be Smart when packing.

Traveling light doesn’t mean that you won’t be bringing the essential items which will keep you survive and look presentable while in other places. Especially in luxury traveling, we tend to bring just one pretty small suitcase with sunglasses on.

But keep in mind that to be presentable is too be ‘present-able’! Meaning you are able to present yourself gorgeously!

You’re out there not just for Business purposes, but also to savour the sightings and take selfies! Let’s not forget being a classy traveller.

Here are the top travel packing tips to help you create the best travel moments everywhere you go!

What and how to pack? Top items on the list!

Portable USB charger / Power Bank!

Guys and Gals, it is 2018! Everyone needs to charge something right?

Our life is recorded on our phone and traveling would be best with HD Cams. Smart phones and Laptops/netbooks is the place where you would store all of your essential info, like maps, directions to hotels, flight info, etc.

It is where your trusted assistant can be found: Google assistant, Siri, Cortana and name all the voice bots!

That means you need it all the time, and we know you really hate to rush looking for outlets in airports or transport spots, especially with different converters. (Luxury Traveling with Newport Jets on the other hand will never make you do this though)

Invest in a few small portable USB chargers and batteries. They’ve been a lifesaver for years!

Zip locks!

Be organized! It is a big thing in travelling. Everyone, for business or not, really needs to travel somewhere. Travel packing cubes are the ultimate luggage organizers!

You don’t need to bring your bottles of supplements and vitamins and have bottle bulk problem on the way. Use small Ziploc bags!

You got liquid items? It’s no problemo! If one of the liquid bottles spills or gets damaged, putting or organizing your things inside Ziplocs won’t get the spilled liquid all over your entire wardrobe!

Travel Security

Look out for pickpockets. Especially when traveling alone. The most convenient way to protect your valuables especially your cash/cards is to keep them hidden and close to you. You can hide your valuables with a money belt or wallet that can be hung on your neck and hidden in your shirts, panties or bras.

Travel Documents, Cash, and Credit Cards are the MOST important things to carry, so be sure to keep them very close to you like your entire travel life depends on it. And of course pray to keep the snatchers our while you are sleeping.

Here are the checklists of travel security items to help you!

  • Passport/visa(s)
  • Personal ID and government issued ID  – it would be best  to bring at least 2 valid IDs when traveling
  • Cash and credit card(s) – make sure to inform your bank about your trip. Most credit card companies will freeze your credit cards if they noticed an unusual transaction. While money changers are commonly found in most airports, it would be best to bring denominations of the country you will be visiting especially when your arrival falls at night. When Traveling to a remote island, make sure to research if ATM machines are available in the place.
  • Health insurance cards/document(s)
  • Travel insurance info
  • Reservations and itineraries – as mentioned above your itinerary must be detailed and must be kept handy.
  • Hotel and/or tour contact information
  • Transportation tickets (plane, train, bus, car, etc.) – store your e-tickets in your smart phones and tablets. Have a hard coy as well just in case something happens to your gadgets. Scan the important documents and email it to yourself so to be extra secured and so you can still retrieve all important documents online.
  • Emergency contacts and important addresses

The list came from this awesome blog, Thanks! We don’t need to research further.

First Aid

Of course, you don’t want to be infected after a tick, mosquito and bug bite. Also, small accidents happen most often: a slash of nipper, head bump or nail scratch is not impossible. So if you want to travel light, be sure to travel with these first aid check list:

  • Paracetamol and if you are travelling with children include the children’s version as well
  • Antiseptic Cream
  • Anti-bug bite spray
  • Band-aids
  • Prescription Medications – If you take quite a few prescriptions you may like to use a travel pill box that offers a cover and sleeve to place copies of your prescription
  • Vitamins you regularly take – don’t suddenly stop taking them as it may upset your physical well-being
  • Lip balm or petroleum jelly – chapped lips are horrible and inevitable. Be sure to carry them wherever you are. Most recommended for gentlemen. Yes, seriously guys.

Foodies

Bring things that makes you comfortable, and food is on the top list! Count in the chocolates, snack bars and detoxifying juices. Travel with lovely cookies is fun!

If you book with Newport Jets, we will make everything ready for you. Hot from the stove!

Music to help you sleep

Music lovers can relate very much, but to those who are not, well you still need them. Just in case you will be staying with loud snorers. Country music sound much better than Shrek’s growl right?

Books

Weight is a big thing in travelling. So when you travel, you might consider downloading an e-book app to suffice your eyes while in airport waiting for your plane. If you prefer a traditional book paper to avoid radiation, how about an anti-radiation eyeglasses. Believe me, you would be thankful for the extra space you free up.

With Newport Jets, you will definitely experience the most luxurious reading time ever in your life.

Here are the random yet very important travel packing tips from travel experts!

  • Ever heard or tried FOLD then ROLL? Yes! It is the best packing advice of all time!
  • Give a try for the so-called ‘safe colors’. Black and brown dress and tops is a thing! It is good to combine with all kinds of shoes, accessories and hair styles.
  • Be conservative with shoes. Just like the possible ‘bad-hair’ day, there is also ‘bad-shoes’ day and it can totally ruin the trip. It is 101% can happen to those who didn’t bring extra with.
  • Scarves. Pack lots of them. For fashion and style and for something soft to sit on. It is use as sun protector as well.
  • Sleeping masks. Never forget this one.
  • Use colored packing cubes. This way you can easily pull out the ‘shirts’ and stuffs quickly without searching and dumping out an entire backpack.
  • OR See-through plastic bags. Just to generally keep your backpack organized without the need to empty it every time you find something.
  • For ladies, a little black dress, cute flats, and a shawl go a long way. Thanks to Nomadic Chick advice.
  • For those who are street food lovers, pack a spork to make your street food experience easier and more enjoyable. Safe too!
  • Duct Tape. You’ll find a million and one uses for it.
  • The best day bag for travel is a dry bag that can protect and store your valuables.
  • Hypoallergenic pillow case. The one that zips to cover gross pillows, which often contain dust mites. Pack a sleep sheet as well.
  • Earplugs is common for travellers, so why to forget them?
  • Pack a couple single-use detergent packs. If you’re on a trip that’s less than a month long and plan to hand wash clothes. For longer travels, buy detergent as you go – but pack a few to get started.
  • Don’t forget to leave space in your luggage if you’re the type that loves to shop and bring back souvenirs!
  • Perfumes. Well, we don’t need to further this sentence.

Let’s not forget to be inspired. Stay motivated.

Smile.

What to do FIRST? I bet you’ve asked this question to yourself over and over again.

  •   Travel Reviews of the best places is a much big help! Read them and scrutinized every places that other people attended, where they had their meal, where are the best places to take photo selfies or groupies!
  •  Check out that place’s local website. This will help you learn the events upcoming and to know their culture well!
  •  Buy Maps and Guidebooks. Not to be old fashioned, but leaving your phone inside your safety pocket and buy the paper material Maps and updated guidebooks will certainly help you save not only your phone’s battery but also your health! Radiation-free materials are best after all.
  •   Tell them where you are going! Anyone you trusted enough not to spoil the whole planning and rob your house while you’re out. Especially not annoy you in asking, “whut? ‘er… with whom? By yourself? GOSH! Let me go to!” This is for safety, so when you are lost, out of money by unfavourable events like being robbed and more, you have someone to find you.
  •  Breath-in, Breath-out. We know you are excited, very much excited. Who’s not? Travel is a breath of fresh air. But you should stay calm, do your proper researches, read awesome blogs (like this one you’re reading) for travel tips, pack your things, get a mirror and say, “I am ready”.

Here are the top 5 best advices before leaving:

  1. Get your household needs done! Cancel your newspapers, hold your mail delivery, and prepay your bills. Because heeey, who wants handle these things while being jet lag and needs a 6-hour sleep recovery?
  2.  Because airline carry-on restrictions are always changing, visit the Transportation Security Administration’s website for a list of what you can bring on the plane, and for the latest security measures (including screening of electronic devices, which you may be asked to power up).
  3. If you’ll be renting a car, you’ll need a valid driver’s license. An International Driving Permit is technically required in Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain.
  4. Download any apps you might want to use on the road, such as translators, maps, and transit schedules. Check out Rick Steves Audio Europe for free, downloadable audio tours of Europe’s major sights and hours of travel interviews.
  5. Make a list of valuables that you’re bringing (such as electronics). Include serial numbers, makes, and models, and take photos of your items to serve as a record for the police and your insurance company should anything be stolen.

Travel Tips from REAL TRAVELLERS!

I have enjoyed reading these blogs so much, so I thought, why not to share it in one page blog? Jot them all down here and credit the authors with their links and make other travellers (like me) the happiest person in the world!

I got 4 lovely travel tips blogs found, here I am listing them all down in no particular order (‘coz they are all equally my favourite travel tips!) *squeee*

Here is by Matthew Karsten from his blog entitled: “My 30 Best Travel Tips After 7 Years Traveling The World”. He said, “It’s now been 7 years since I sold everything and left the United States to travel the world. These are the best travel tips I’ve discovered along the way.”

I’m listing my top 10 favorite!

  1. Patience Is Important. Don’t sweat the stuff you can’t control. Life is much too short to be angry & annoyed all the time. Did you miss your bus? No worries, there will be another one. ATMs out of money? Great! Take an unplanned road trip over to the next town and explore. Sometimes freakouts happen regardless. Just take a deep breath and remind yourself that it could be worse.
  1. Wake Up Early. Rise at sunrise to have the best attractions all to yourself while avoiding crowds. It’s also a magical time for photos due to soft diffused light, and
  2. Stash Extra Cash. Cash is king around the world. To cover your ass in an emergency, make sure to stash some in a few different places. I recommend at least a couple hundred dollars worth. If you lose your wallet, your card stops working, or the ATMs run out of money, you’ll be glad you did.

Some of my favorite stash spots include socks, under shoe inserts, a toiletry bag, around the frame of a backpack, even sewn behind a patch on your bag.

  1. Observe Daily Life. If you really want to get a feel for the pulse of a place, I recommend spending a few hours sitting in a park or on a busy street corner by yourself just watching day to day life happen in front of you. Slow down your train of thought and pay close attention to the details around you. The smells, the colors, human interactions, and sounds. It’s a kind of meditation — and you’ll see stuff you never noticed before.
  1. Back Everything Up. When my laptop computer was stolen in Panama, having most of my important documents and photos backed up saved my ass. Keep both digital and physical copies of your passport, visas, driver’s license, birth certificate, health insurance card, serial numbers, and important phone numbers ready to go in case of an emergency. Backup your files & photos on an external hard drive as well as online with software like Backblaze.
  1. Take Lots of Photos. You may only see these places & meet these people once in your lifetime. Remember them forever with plenty of photos. Don’t worry about looking like a “tourist”. Are you traveling to look cool? No one cares. Great photos are the ultimate souvenir.

They don’t cost anything, they’re easy to share with others, and they don’t take up space in your luggage. Just remember once you have your shot to get out from behind the lens and enjoy the view.

  1. Smile & Say Hello. Having trouble interacting with locals? Do people seem unfriendly? Maybe it’s your body language. One of my best travel tips is to make eye contact and smile as you walk by. If they smile back, say hello in the local language too. This is a fast way to make new friends. You can’t expect everyone to just walk around with a big stupid grin on their face. That’s your job. Usually, all it takes is for you to initiate contact and they’ll open up.
  1. Keep an Open Mind. Don’t judge the lifestyles of others if different from your own. Listen to opinions you don’t agree with. It’s arrogant to assume your views are correct and other people are wrong. Practice empathy and put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Embrace different possibilities, opportunities, people, suggestions, and interests. Ask questions. You don’t have to agree, but you may be surprised what you’ll learn from the people you meet during your travels.
  1. Pack Ear Plugs. This should actually be #1 on the list. I love my earplugs! Muffle the sounds of crying babies, drunk Australians, barking dogs, honking horns, dormitory sex, natural gas salesmen, and more. A traveler’s best friend. These are my favorite earplugs for comfort & effectiveness.
  2. Eat Local Food. Think you already know what Mexican food tastes like? You’re probably wrong. Taste a bit of everything when you travel, especially if you don’t know what it is. Ask local people for recommendations. Eat street food from vendors with big lines out front.

And hey, what is ‘top 10’ if there is no 11? Here is my top 11th fave!

  1. Don’t Forget Travel Insurance. No one ever thinks they’ll get sick, injured, or robbed while traveling. But it happens. I’ve sliced up my head on a volcano, contracted Dengue fever, and lost my laptop to thieves. With travel insurance you don’t have to worry about huge hospital bills or stolen gear when it eventually happens.

Without further ado, here is from Christy Woodrow.

From her blog site, she called herself an ordinary traveller, but apparently these travel tips blog: “My 25 Best Travel Tips After 10 Years of Traveling the World” is no ordinary as it will fill your mind with excitement and gives you the needed whole-hearted travel tips that you will surely use!

  1. Make a List. About a week or so before each trip, I make a mental list of items I don’t want to forget — which I WILL forget if I don’t write them down. I’ve learned that when I think of something, I need to write it down.
  2. Learn Common Phrases of the Local Language. A simple “Please,” “Thank you,” and “I’m sorry” in the local language goes a long way. I also like to learn the word for beer, but that’s just me.
  3. Pack Extra Underwear. Undies are small and it’s always a good idea to have a few extra pairs in case of emergencies. Another option is to pack this quick-dry underwear so you can easily wash them on the road.
  4. Pre-plan Your Outfits. I’m a lazy, last-minute packer, so I’ve spent too many trips with all black or all grey outfits because I didn’t plan my outfits before packing. I look back at photos and wish I had put more effort into packing.
  5. Inquire about the price BEFORE You Take Public Transportation. It’s a good idea to ask about the price before you hop on a bus, guagua, or other form of public transportation. We learned our lesson in the Dominican Republic.
  6. Stay Hydrated on Planes. I know it’s fun to get drunk at 30,000 feet, but it’s also much easier to get dehydrated. Staying hydrated — especially on long-haul flights — makes it easier to get over jet lag too.
  7. Put Your Room Number & Hotel Address in Your Phone. Am I the only one who can’t remember my hotel room number?? There has to be others out there like me.
  8. Beware of Free Public WIFI. I always try to avoid logging into bank accounts or entering any passwords while I’m using free public WIFI at a place like an airport. I’m not as strict about it once I’ve gotten to my hotel, especially if they have a password for their wifi.
  9. Separate Your Personal Items. When Scott and I travel together, we mix our personal items into each checked bag (assuming we have more than one). That way if one of our bags gets lost, we both still have some clothing and personal items.
  10. Separate Your Sources of Money. Don’t keep all of your cash and cards in one spot. I usually hide some cash and a back-up credit/bank card in a separate bag — not the same bag as my wallet.

Oh I know, you are expecting my 11th fave? Well, it is here:

  1. Wear Sunscreen. My face moisturizer has SPF. This is just something I do every day, but it’s especially important while traveling.

Well, you man, should wear one too!

Here is another special featured blog from an enthusiast couple, who advises that having kids or bringing them will never be a distraction, instead, it will make your travel Extra- Special! Their blog: “20 Best Travel Tips After 20 Years of Traveling”, written by no other than Craig himself, smoothly sent us a warm advice to us travellers!

  1. Make Travel a Priority. If you want to travel more, you’ve got to make it a priority! Seriously, if you don’t have enough money for travel yet you have a wardrobe full of designer clothes that you never wear, or a garage full of expensive toys collecting dust, then you’re not clear on your priorities and purpose. We’ve been able to travel overseas consistently over the past 20 years because we made travel one of our top priorities. We channeled most of our energy, focus, and finances towards travel. Currently we don’t own a lot of stuff, but we sure have a lot of memories.
  2. Don’t Expect Things to Be Like They Are at Home. If you want everything like it is at home, then what’s the point of going anywhere? Keep an open mind to learning and experiencing new things when you travel abroad, that includes trying new foods which can tell you a lot about a culture – and don’t be scared to eat the street food! We travel abroad to experience different cultures, environments, and ways of thinking. So don’t shut yourself off to experiencing all a country has to offer. If you travel with an open mind you can have a much more enriching experience. There will be moments when other cultures will shock you. Don’t judge them. When this happens, sit back and say, “Isn’t that interesting, tell me more!”
  3. Plan it Together. Sit down with all members of your family and talk about your trip.

The best way to get your kids interested and excited is to have them involved in the travel planning process.

Talk about:

How many days will your trip be?

What types of places will you visit: beaches, mountains, big cities, small towns?

Do you want relaxation or adventure?

When will the trip start?

Memorable trips are those where each member of your family gets to experience something they love. Grab a few brochures or travel magazines and flick through the colorful pages. Everyone gets to choose a destination and activity they’d like to see and do. Go through the list as a family, discuss the pros and cons of each and vote. Next, jump online or on the floor with a big paper map and plot out your basic route with a highlighter, leaving room for flexibility.

When you plan a trip it’s important you choose a destination and activities that suit the interests of all family members. If your kids (or you) are bored or dislike a place it’s not the recipe for a memorable vacation.

  1. Talk to the Locals. One of our best travel tips and what we always do is talk to the locals! They usually have the best travel advice and insider knowledge on what to see, do and eat in their own town. It’s truly amazing what you will learn by striking up a casual conversation.

We ask simple questions like:

Where can we get the best coffee?

Where is the best spot to see the sunrise?

What are the top three things you would show a friend from out of town?

You’ll find that the locals love sharing travel info and stories about their town and are more than happy to help you have a memorable visit! Some of the best locals to talk to are those working behind the front desk in your hotel, or the bell boy. We always ask them for tips on where to eat, drink and explore.

Failing that, we look on Trip Advisor.

  1. Be Flexible. One of our best travel tips, especially if you travel with kids like us, is to leave room for flexibility in your itinerary. If you’re on an extended trip, don’t pre-book everything. You’ll meet people along the way who will recommend great places you’ve never heard of. You’ll discover interesting cultural activities and tours, and activities you thought you only needed 2 hours at you’ll need all day! And places that sound great from your pre-trip research can turn out to be horrible! If all your flights, tours and accommodation are pre-booked it can be costly to change. Go with the flow a little and don’t over plan. Of course, if you are on a short trip with limited time and there are popular attractions you want to visit, it pays to book ahead.

And my Favorite 6th fave!

  1. Do the FREE Stuff. If saving money when you travel is a focus for you, then one of our best budget travel tips is to seek out all the free things to do. Most of the time the best experiences in life are free, or extremely low cost. There is absolute joy in the simplest of moments, such as swinging in a hammock while watching the sunset over the horizon.

Other free things:

Take a walk or bike ride

Swim at the beach or lake

Climb a mountain

Catch a magnificent sunrise

Attend museums or tourist sites on free days or when they are discounted

Play in the park

Visit a market

See a street fair or cultural event

We LOVE walking. It’s one of the best ways to get to know and appreciate wherever you are instead of racing around by car.

When you walk around you have time to stop and marvel at all the nooks and crannies.

You are better able to soak up the atmosphere and feel the energy. And walking is FREE and good for your health!

And walking is FREE and good for your health!

NomadicMatt with his “61 Travel Tips to Make You the World’s Savviest Traveler” Gives you the savviest indeed travel tips.

61 is a lot and you’re in a rush sooo we picked our Top 10 (like a choosing the best grapes in a vineyard for the exquisite perfect taste of fermented wine) just for you!

  1. Don’t be afraid to get purposefully lost. Wandering aimlessly through a new city is a good way to get to know it. You might be surprised by the hidden gems you find.
  2. Always visit the local tourism office. They know about everything going on in town. They can point you to free activities, special events happening during your stay, and everything in between. Use this resource.
  3. Always carry a lock. They come in handy, especially when you stay in dorms and need to lock your stuff up.
  4. Make extra copies of your passport and important documents. Don’t forget to e-mail a copy to yourself so you’ll almost always have access to them, one way or another.
  5. Read a history book! You can’t understand a place’s present if you don’t know anything about its past. Read up on the destinations you are visiting.
  6. Lunchtime is the best time to visit historical sites. The sites empty out and you’ll have fewer crowds to fight.
  7. Carry a basic first-aid kit. Accidents happen, so be prepared. I take with me bandaids, antibacterial cream, and ointments for cuts and scrapes.
  8. But keep your guard up. Some people do bite, so keep a healthy level of suspicion.
  9. Try new food. Don’t ask what it is. Just put it in your mouth and see if you like it. If you put your guard up, you might miss out on some unusual and delicious local cuisine.
  10. Get city attraction cards. If you are going to visit a lot of museums and other attractions in a short period of time, a city pass is going to save you money on admission (plus most provide free public transportation too!).

Lol, did not forget the top 11!

  1. Take pictures of your luggage and clothes. If your bag gets lost, this will help identify it more easily and speed up the process of having your travel insurance reimburse you.

So that’s pretty much long eh, Buy hey! they are worth to read bookworm travellers!!!

Better keep these lists in your phone, travel book or anywhere you can note them!

Have a blast in Wellfleet, Massachusetts!

Wellfleet is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States, and is located halfway between the “tip” and “elbow” of Cape Cod. The town had a population of 2,750 at the 2010 census, which swells nearly sixfold during the summer. A total of 70% of the town’s land area is in protection, and nearly half of it is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Wellfleet is famous for its eponymous oysters, which are celebrated in the annual October Wellfleet OysterFest. (inf src)

It is Over 40 miles & 40,000 acres of dune-filled beaches, salt marshes & hiking & cycling paths.

Here are the places to go in this incredible place!

Cape Cod National Seashore

Absolutely beautiful area! Clean and peaceful! Truly a Wonderful coastline, and Sandbars, clean beach spots for family and couples.

And hey, a friendly tip, you gotta make sure you check the weather, it can get freezing cold!

Here to prove we are right, we’re showing you the traveller’s review:

“Beautiful vacation spot. Great for spending time with the family on the beach, kayaking on the lakes, or exploring the different communities. Lots  of history to learn about, and plenty of local historical sights. I would definitely recommend going to Cape Cod for a vacation.”

“One of the most beautiful places on this continent.  My family went surfing and had a blast. Wetsuits are recommended for early in summer.  Incredible facilities including lifeguards, showers, parking, and a new boardwalk/staircase.  Just download the Shark Alert app provided by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and keep your eyes peeled for large dark shapes in the water!”

Never miss the chance to get in here!

Rent a bike and ride miles and miles of paved trails that traverse the seashore!

Pilgrim Monument

The Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, Massachusetts, was built between 1907 and 1910, to commemorate the first landfall of the Pilgrims in 1620, and the signing of the Mayflower Compact in Provincetown Harbor.

Honoring the Mayflower Pilgrims, this 252-ft. granite monument offers dramatic city & harbor views.

“View from the top is worth the climb up. Great way to get your steps in for the day but it is a trek up if you aren’t used to it. The stairway has landings so you can take a breather and let people pass if needed. Interesting things on the wall to read as you climb. Gift store and exhibit on the ground floor and nice grounds around it.”

“If you love climbing stairs forever and becoming acrophobic, you will love it here. View from the top is remarkable. Gives you a really good sense of how small cape cod really is, just a little spit sticking out into the ocean. Don’t get tickets unless prepared to climb stairs for ten minutes.”

“You can’t miss the giant granite monument that towers over Provincetown, MA.  So why not climb it?!?!  The impressiveness of the tower is a 5, and the price is a 3… so I’m giving this 4 stars.  While the museum has some highlights, such as the narwal tusk, whale jawbone and some cool taxidermy, $12/adult is a bit much for what it is.  But it’s worth it to climb the tower…”

Have a Terrific experience. With the staffs was helpful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable, you surely never miss the chance of getting in here for a vacation!

Lighthouse Beach

It is a large sandy beach known for strong currents with a working lighthouse & seal population. Really an amazing place to visit!

We’ll let reviews give justice to why we include this place as the best place to visit!

“Echoing everyone else, this is a beautiful beach. Too cold for swimming when I attended and very dangerous currents. Swimming areas are buoyed off and don’t go out very far. Parking at the lot is limited to 30 minutes. There is a parking lot on Maine Street with a shuttle to alleviate parking (though that lot shares with village shopping and is easily crowded).”

“Breathtaking view from the overlook. Popular for sunbathing, long beach walks, and being seen. Water has dangerous currents and is shark infested in season. Shore patrol on constant duty. Limited street parking and long hike to beach. Popular with seasonal residents staying within walking distance.”

“One of the best beaches on the Cape. Clean and always nice to walk along. The breeze is always blowing and the area is very open. The parking is a little tight on popular days.”

This is a place to yoga as well!

(img src)

Marconi Wireless Station Site

The Marconi Wireless Station Site in South Wellfleet, Massachusetts is the site of the first transatlantic wireless communication between the United States and Europe, on January 18, 1903.

This place is truly a breath-taking concept in 1903!

“Excellent view. Historic plaques. Nearby trail that exposes some of the National Seashore’s woodland beauty. Free parking. Clean bathrooms. No beach access.”

“It’s a shame there isn’t more there to mark such an amazing technological feat. As the plaque says, wireless communication was a concept saved for science fiction at the time of his invention. Again, there isn’t too much to mark the achievement but it’s free and a beautiful place to contemplate such an amazing achievement in technology. If you’re interested in history (or just on a really tight budget) it’s worth stopping in. There are some nice looking trails to check out in the area, but bad weather prevented us from exploring them.”

Ithaca Falls (Waterfall in New York)

It is very close to Ithaca downtown and college town. Close to the road, you don’t need to walk too much to reach there. Got an easy parking and above all, a spectacular view, a must watch in Ithaca.

The Beautiful falls are 150 feet high and 175 feet wide. Easy walk from the free parking lot. Hey! Who doesn’t ‘literally’ enjoy Free Parking? *grins*

Even though it’s a quick walk to the falls, it still is a beautiful (and big) waterfall. You can fish here for trout when they run up the creek to the foot of the falls. Worth the stop!

Buttermilk Falls State Park

Buttermilk Falls State Park is a 811-acre state park located southwest of Ithaca, New York, United States. Like Robert H. Treman State Park, a portion of the land that was to become the state park came from Robert and Laura Treman in 1924.

We’ll let the Google reviews show how amazing this place is:

“Very cool place to visit. Do not judge this area based off of the falls at the bottom. Take the gorge trail! Buttermilk Falls is it’s own personal infomercial. Just when we thought we already saw so much, we realized “but wait, there’s more!” Definitely a must see.”

“This was the first of Ithaca’s Falls we discovered. As a mother with a little one, I appreciate that you can easily view the falls not far from the parking lot, without having to hike a distance. That being said, we have walked up the stairs a ways and enjoyed the view, but hope to explore other trails in the park someday. The bathrooms and playground are nice for a break from traveling too.”

“Buttermilk Falls is a great place to visit year-round. The gorge trail is stunning and a must-see for anyone passing by Ithaca – think of a mini version of Watkin’s Glen. For a more secluded walk, go in the upper park entrance and hike around Lake Treman. You’ll definitely see lots of critters.”

See? It’s a must-to-visit place!

Stewart Park

Stewart Park is a municipal park operated by the city of Ithaca, New York on the southern end of Cayuga Lake, the largest of New York’s Finger Lakes.

No charge to get into this park. Yes! You heard it right! Certainly a great place to grab a bench, bring your lunch, and just enjoy this full length view of the lake. Great place to take smaller children, lovely merry go round in the summer, and all kinds of recreational park toys.

“Steward Park is a decent to good park for part of the year. In the summer months this place is awesome. BBQs going all the time is the theme fishing and kids playing on a fairly large playground. Boats out on the water people sunbathing. Fairly well kept public restrooms. The roads are fairly confusing and it’s pretty dreary most of the year so I had to knock it a point. All in all I do recommend Stewart park to anyone in Ithaca in the summer otherwise maybe just a drive through.” – Google review

Cornell Botanic Gardens

The Cornell Botanic Gardens, formerly known as the Cornell Plantations, is a botanical garden located adjacent to the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York.

For environment enthusiast, specifically the nature lover, this is the place you surely wouldn’t want to miss out this June!

Founded in 1875, this 4,000-acre site offers specialty gardens, an arboretum & educational programs.

Given the rate 5 out of 5, here is a review from enthusiast travellers themselves!

“The place is amazing during the warmer months of the year, they have an incredible amount of different species of plants from conifers to herbs. They have a vegetable garden, a winter garden, basically a whole entire forest, and a lot more. Walking around isn’t a bad idea, though driving is preferred if you don’t want to walk around in 40° weather for an hour and a half. It’s a great educational and natural experience for everyone without literally going into the middle of the wilderness. During the mid fall to early spring months, half the fauna is dead but it’s still nice.”

“The gardens were beautiful and it smelled wonderful. The gift shop also had very cute planters and gardening related however they were a bit pricey. I will definitely go again to explore more because there are multiple different gardens including an herb garden.”

“Lovely, free, browse at your leisure garden.  Great for kids- there’s herbs, edibles, and more. They are welcome to touch/smell, etc.  A nice, super shady arbor/tunnel runs along one side of the garden- great for a packed lunch, an easy stroll to Beebe lake should you want to walk around the lake.  Majority of the garden has direct sunlight and no shade-bring a hat/shades/etc. Restrooms in the visitor center. Gift shop too. Out door patio seating also there.  It’s a drive to get to the lily ponds. Free parking.”

It will blow your mind! A truly sighting that will melt your heart and bring back the youthful glow of your person!

Full of plants and knowledgeable people, this place is amazing!

June Glom in Santa Barbara, California ❤️

With pleasant temperatures averaging in the 70s and hardly any rainfall, summer is peak season in Santa Barbara. This is the time of year when most of the annual events occur in the city, bringing with them more crowds and elevated hotel prices. This is also the time of year locals call “June Gloom” — the foggy season. (inf src)

Here’s from John Dickson’s Santa Barbara community guide. He apprises what this place can offer, with its incredible notion in addressing the place season as “June Gloom” or sometimes “May Gray”. Its temperature is so wonderful and will keep you breathless in your whole vacation.

In the blog it says:

“As locals know and most visitors figure out fast – the Pacific Ocean is really, really cold.  If you drive over the Santa Ynez Mountains, you will also discover that inland is very, very warm.

When those warm desert winds hit the cold ocean waters, it generates a billowing fog that sweeps inland.  The temperatures are kept cooler here in large part because of this fog.

The upshot is that throughout late May and June (until the ocean warms up enough for this not to happen) each morning dawns dank and foggy.   Fortunately, it usually clears by noon.  This gives us the temperature break that we need and the sunny summer afternoons we expect.

So hang in there – the fog will lift.  And when it does we can smile at the poor souls inland suffering with 100º+ temperatures to our 80º or so.  It’s a small price to pay for heaven!” (inf src)
